Boys and Girls Club Alumni and Friends host dinner

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Boys and Girls Club Alumni and Friends partnered with the Wichita Falls Mavericks to host the Legacy Dinner.

The event took place at the MPEC Exhibit Hall. Leo Lane and Doyle Bently were recognized as Legacy Honorees, while Amy Simmons received the Dr. Josh Kimbrough Distinguished Alumnus for 2024.

“This is kind of a full-circle moment for me, being a former club kid and then working at the club especially when I was in college kind of led me into the career that I have now. You know, one of the most important things I feel like is my job as an educator, is to build relationships with kids and families and I gained that experience for sure when I was working at the Boys and Girls Club and kind of carried it with me,” Simmons said.

Four MSU Texas students also received scholarships. The event also doubled as a fundraiser, including a live auction and raffle.
