Police: Troy teenager caught with loaded gun twice

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday for allegedly possessing a loaded gun for the second time in Troy.

Officers were patrolling the North Central Troy area after a recent shooting. They found a person standing with a group of people who they believed had a handgun. He fled after police approached but was caught nearby.

He had a gun loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition, police said.

The juvenile was arraigned on two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the youth justice system and committed to a juvenile detention center.

This is the suspect’s second gun arrest.
