After a thrilling race in Atlanta to open the playoffs, the NASCAR Cup Series begins this week in Watkins Glen, NY

Go Bowling at The Glen is the second playoff race of the 2024 season and will be held on Sunday afternoon at the Watkins Glen International Road Course. It is the first time in WGI history that it will host a Cup Series playoff event.

The full field will race 90 laps around the seven-lap, 2.45-mile road course, with the winner earning a spot in the next round of the playoffs. Four of the 16 drivers who qualified for the post-season will be eliminated from next week’s championship chase at Bristol.

Kyle Busch, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson all have two career wins at Watkins Glen, which are the most of any active Cup Series driver.

Elliott won back-to-back races in 2018 and 2019, while Larson dropped the double in 2021 and 2022 at The Glen.

William Byron was last year’s winner, meaning a Chevy – specifically Hendricks Motorsports – took the last five checkered flags on the road course.

FrontPageBets takes a look at the drivers to watch in Sunday’s Go Bowling at The Glen race at Watkins Glen International (3 p.m.; USA Network).

Reddick, the pilot of the no. 45 23XI Racing Toyota won the regular season Cup championship and is looking for more. And road routes are in his wheelhouse.

Three of his seven career Cup wins have come on road courses. He has finished in the top five in every road race this season, including second on the streets of downtown Chicago.

Reddick has three top-10s in three career starts at Watkins Glen.

The road specialist will be competing in just his 10th Cup start, but already has one win and two top-10 finishes, all on road courses.

He won the last inaugural street race in Chicago.

Driving the Kaulig Racing Chevy this weekend, the three-time Supercar champion is one to watch.

Winless this season and out of the playoffs, Busch is still a formidable threat, especially at a track where he’s driven to Victory Lane twice in his career.

On road courses this year, Busch has two top-10 finishes and top-seven finishes in his last four Cup races, including back-to-back second finishes at Daytona and Darlington.

The driver of the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy also has 13 top-10s, including seven top-5s in 18 career starts at The Glen.
