Sticker Mule’s CEO Says He Was Banned From Reddit — He Wasn’t

Print-on-demand company Sticker Mule made headlines in July after a failed assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump. The company sent an explosive message to its mailing list and social media platforms, claiming that “the hatred towards Trump and his supporters has gone too far.”

Emails and social media messages offered $15 off T-shirts to show support for Trump, as well as a call for less rancor against the former president and his supporters.

“People are terrified to admit they support Trump,” said the email, which was signed by company co-founder Anthony Constantino. “I was scared too.”

The message was met with an outpouring of anger from liberals and centrists who saw it as a ridiculous and unprofessional move by the company to promote a political message on its business channels.

Now, Constantino claims the company is in hot water on Reddit.

It is not.

The company started posting again this month for the first time in seven years, and some of those recent efforts have been removed from some subreddits.

Constantino says that could have a big effect on the company’s website traffic.

“Google uses Reddit as a major search signal. A Reddit ban limits our ability to rank well in Google and prosper financially. This ban is another example of discrimination against Trump supporters,” Constantino claimed in a video the company posted on their social media pages.

Earlier this year, a Google executive admitted (and later deleted) that Reddit posts tend to rank very well in Search.

Constantino said the ban was a particular shame because Sticker Mule has worked with Reddit in the past to print sticker products for the company.

But his video is full of anger rather than genuine concern.

Constantino did not immediately respond to questions from the Daily Dot.

His account had been inactive since 2017, when two weeks ago he tried to post to r/Stickers, a 57,000-member subreddit that had a Sticker Mule rule in place since the company’s first pro-Trump posts.

“Due to StickerMule’s recent behavior and controversy, we will no longer support their content and advertising on the subreddit. Alternatives can be found in (the) sticky thread,” the forum sidebar reads.

Sticker Mule’s post was removed by moderators, along with similar posts from r/startups, r/NewYork and r/Albana

Subreddits, however, are self-policing, with esoteric rules and regulations for posting on each. If a user or brand receives one, it is not banned from the entire site.

Sticker Mule’s account is still active on the site, indicating that he has not been banned.

A mod for r/Stickers did not immediately respond to questions asking if he permanently banned Sticker Mule from posting on the forum or just removed his posts.

Since going public in July, Constantino has posted a steady stream of pro-Trump content on the company’s social media pages, including a statement after the most recent assassination attempt against Trump in September.

In that post, Constantino asked Hillary Clinton to apologize for calling Trump voters deplorable and Joe Biden to apologize for the “Fine People Hoax.”

“The sooner people come forward and issue statements to apologize and explain that they have incited hatred against Trump on false pretenses, often to their benefit, the sooner we will solve the problem and have a US and a world happier,” Constantino wrote. , after running into a long list of celebrities, he said he should apologize to Trump.

In early September, Sticker Mule also released an official Sticker Mule endorsement, writing that Trump is “The Ultimate President of Global Happiness.”

“One of the greatest tragedies of the past 8 years is that millions of people missed out on the chance to laugh with the funniest president of all time while enjoying a roaring economy, global peace and many other benefits,” he said. wrote Constantine.

And while some posters show support for the pro-Trump outpouring, not everyone in the comments was appreciative.

“I’m sure that will help him get into office. Hi America’s 10,000th bumper sticker company supports Trump,” one person replied. “All the while, all the politicians ever make campaign stickers in China.”

“Regardless of your political views. Keep them private,” wrote another. “Operate your business separately from politics. Smh.”
