FAYETTEVILLE — The trails in Centennial Park will be closed to the public this weekend as a mountain bike festival takes place.

The lanes will be closed Friday through Sunday, according to a city news release.

The three-day Grit MTB Festival will take place in the park during that time, the release said.

The event is for riders of all abilities and backgrounds who are transgender men and women, cisgender women and nonbinary, according to the release. Founded in 2019, the event annually raises money for All Bikes Welcome, a nonprofit organization with a stated mission to create more racial and gender diversity in cycling.

The event will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but the park’s trails will remain open on Thursday while the event is organized, the release said.
