Column: Julie Orf: Banned Books (9/28/24)

Banned Books Week began in 1982. This was in response to a sudden increase in the number of book challenges in libraries, bookstores and schools. Usually held in the last week of September, the annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information and brings together the entire book community (librarians, educators, authors, publishers, booksellers and readers of all kinds) in common support of freedom to to search and express ideas.
