Redding police have arrested three people in connection with a suspected drug house on Shasta View Drive

The Redding Police Department (RPD) made several arrests Friday in connection with a local drug house on Shasta View Drive.

RPD said the Neighborhood Policing Unit (NPU) began its investigation into the suspected drug house located in the 2900 block of Shasta View Drive after receiving multiple complaints from residents about constant traffic to and from the house, picking up suspicions of illegal activity.

The primary occupant of the residence was identified as Kyle Dumas, 40, of Redding. On Friday, September 27, police said they executed a search warrant at the property in question. When officers arrived, RPD said Dumas was seen leaving the property in a vehicle driven by Ryan Scouter, 41, of Redding.

A search of the vehicle led to Scouter’s arrest after RPD said a collapsible baton and methamphetamine were discovered in the vehicle.

When they searched the Shasta View residence, officers found a third subject, Joshua Jenson, 37, of Redding. Jenson was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody under the RPD.

A large amount of drug paraphernalia, various types of ammunition, a ball club and merchandise stolen from a local store were found inside the residence. Police said suspicions that the property was a drug house were confirmed when the home was found in disarray, filled with narcotics, trash, sundries and exposed wiring.

According to police, all three suspects have been arrested. Dumas was arrested for owning a drug house, being a drug addict in possession of ammunition and in possession of a billy club. Scouter was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a baton and possession of stolen property. Jenson was eventually arrested for his outstanding warrants.

“The NPU’s efforts continue to ensure the safety and well-being of the community by addressing issues related to drug activity and other criminal behavior,” RPD said.
