The City of Marion is asking residents to conserve water as a water outlet without power

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) – The city of Marion is asking residents to conserve water as they report water mains are out after Helene.

Officials report that Duke Energy is working to restore power to the Buck Creek water intake, but that it may be without power for an extended period of time.

If power is not restored, Marion’s water supply will run out at noon Sunday, officials said.

Authorities are asking residents to conserve water so city and county water supplies can be stretched.

As part of the conservation, officials are asking residents not to wash their cars, water their lawns, operate laundry machines or use water for any other non-essential reasons.
