Former EPIC CEO sued for missing money, but was never found

Todd Berning

FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Former EPIC Companies CEO Todd Berning is being sued for money owed, but so far he can’t be found to receive papers.

A lawsuit was filed against Berning by 7Seven Property Partners, a Minot company, for money due Sept. 6. Court records show that several attempts to serve Berning failed. Servers tried to locate Berning at an apartment in Fargo and a house in West Fargo, then an apartment in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Berning was not at any of those addresses.

On September 11, a judge agreed to serve Berning by mail.

In May, EPIC companies abruptly closed, laying off employees. In July, the company filed for bankruptcy. Many contractors and investors are owed money; some are owed thousands of dollars.
