The App Store is down and thousands of users are complaining

The App Store is currently unavailable and iPhone users are complaining about this outage. According to Down syndrome detectorpeople have been having issues with Apple’s marketplace since 10:30 a.m. EST.

The store is available and you can open app pages, but apps cannot be installed on iPhones and iPads. Users report that app updates are also not downloaded, although available updates appear in the Updates tab.

BGR confirmed issues on several iOS devices. Currently, Apple only recognizes issues with its subscription and volume purchasing program, which means people can’t sign in. However, the company claims that the App Store is operational.

Yesterday, Apple released macOS Sequoia 15.1 beta 7. However, this build became unavailable for several hours as Apple’s servers experienced an outage. It is unclear whether the two problems may be related. Still, it’s strange that a few hours later the App Store was also having issues.

Due to today’s issue, users are unable to download new apps, view purchase history, or update software. What happened is not clear.

BGR will notify you when service is restored or if Apple recognizes this issue.
