Florida Governor Ron DeSantis says at least 340 people have been rescued after Hurricane Milton

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis provided an update Thursday on Hurricane Milton rescue and recovery efforts, noting that 340 people and 49 pets have been rescued since the storm made landfall Wednesday evening. The governor also said inland flooding from the storm in the central and northern parts of the state blocked key roads. Power companies are working to restore power to an estimated three million residents in the dark.
