“The facts of this case are admittedly strange”; the man admits to committing the crime

BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA) – A 67-year-old Wyoming County man pleaded guilty after the Wyoming County prosecutor said he tried to commit a crime.

According to the prosecutor, Tommy Ray Wilson, 67, of Kopperston, allegedly entered the Oceana home and took a set of keys. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle, and a witness told the officer that Wilson entered her home without permission and took a set of keys belonging to her dad.

The prosecutor says Wilson took the vehicle and later claimed he planned to return the vehicle after the wedding.

Wilson’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 19 and he faces 1 to 3 years in the Department of Corrections.
