A basket of abandoned kittens rescued after Hurricane Milton

A group of kittens found after Hurricane Milton were rescued by a good Samaritan.

The Melbourne Police Department said a kind citizen found kittens in a trash bin after a storm hit the city. They were on the side of the road.

The officers took in the kittens and gave them proper care. They say it was nice to have furry friends during difficult times in Florida.

“On a stressful day, it made everyone smile! We are thrilled to share this thanks to our team’s efforts,” the department said in a Facebook post.

There were seven cats in the basket. One of the cats was named “Milton.”

Police say they have all been taken to loving homes.
