Convicted criminal found guilty of murder in 2022

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On Friday, a convicted felon was found guilty of murder in 2022.

Marlon Williams, 35, killed 24-year-old Shaquan Parker in a drive-by shooting on Wellington Avenue in Rochester in July 2022. Williams was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force in September 2023 with an illegal firearm – which Monroe County The crime lab determined it was the same one used to kill Parker.

Williams, who was convicted of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, will be sentenced in December.

“Marlon Williams’ story has demonstrated time and time again that he has no interest in following the law or being a productive citizen in our community,” Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley said in a statement. “The defendant brutally pursued Shaquan Parker and took his life without regard for the value of human life. Although they will never get their loved one back, we hope that Shaquan Parker’s family feels justice in today’s verdict.”
