Delhi SHOCK! Odisha woman raped and abandoned in Sarai Kale Khan, rescued at 3am News24 –

A shocking incident came to light in the capital of the country, where a woman was allegedly attacked and raped. TOI reported that a 34-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and abandoned on a road in Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan area. According to reports, an army officer alerted the police about the woman. Around 2 am, the officer was passing through Bala Saheb Gurudwara near Sarai Kale Khan towards Maharani Bagh when he saw the unconscious girl lying on the roadside.

An Indian Navy officer informed the police and the police immediately rushed to the spot where they found her with a torn kurti and a piece of cloth on her lower torso. She was taken to hospital where bleeding was found in the genital area.

Police said they suspected she had been sexually assaulted elsewhere and abandoned at Sarai Kale Khan. According to police, the woman hails from Odisha and came to Delhi last year. She told police she had completed a nursing course.

Her parents reportedly reported her missing in Odisha when she left home. She was later found in Delhi. Two months ago, her parents came to Delhi to convince her to come back home, but she refused.

The police further added that the woman lost her phone a month ago and has not had any contact with her family since then. TOI quoted a police officer as saying that the woman was unable to say how the phone went missing or whether it was stolen. She lived in south Delhi but slept on the streets when she ran out of money. The officer said CCTV footage showed her sleeping near the ATM for two days.

The woman is currently undergoing treatment, and the police said they are unable to provide any details about the perpetrators at this time. Police have contacted her brother and are reviewing CCTV footage. Delhi Police is trying to locate the victims’ movements using CCTV footage and their statements will be recorded today.
