A woman was found dead, two other people were rescued after a fire on the 14th floor of PJ’s apartment

PETALING JAYA: A 31-year-old woman died and two others were rescued after a fire broke out at an apartment in Sunway Damansara.

Selangor Fire Department deputy director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the distress call was received at around 8.39am on Saturday (Oct 12).

“21 firefighters from three fire stations were sent to the spot.

“At the scene, the team discovered that a distribution box on the 14th floor had caught fire,” he said in a statement Saturday.

The fire was finally extinguished, but the 31-year-old woman died and her body was found in the bathroom of the apartment building, he added.

“Two other people – a 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman – were rescued,” he said.
