The man faced dozens of charges in connection with the alleged thefts, which lasted almost a year

PHOENIX — A man faces dozens of charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise after a nearly year-long crime spree.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office charged the man with 44 counts of organized retail theft, a Class 4 felony, as well as two misdemeanor charges.

Court documents show the man robbed various businesses throughout the valley, including Target, Ulta Beauty, Lowe’s and Home Depot.

In total, the man stole approximately $37,000 worth of merchandise from the stores.

Court documents show he allegedly robbed businesses across the valley, from west Phoenix to Paradise Valley to Scottsdale.

Organized retail theft is a problem in Maricopa County that MCAO is working to combat.

Last year, the MCAO announced a campaign to combat organized retail theft following a huge increase in the number of such incidents in 2023.

Since then, multiple people have been arrested and more than $600,000 worth of merchandise has been recovered.
