Prostitution scandal busted in Bengaluru under the guise of event management company, couple arrested: report | Bengaluru

A couple involved in prostitution under the guise of event management has been arrested by the Women and Child Protection Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru.

According to Prajavani’s report, the accused, identified as Prakash and Parijata, residents of Pattegarapallya, were arrested and four young women were rescued from custody.

The duo, who operated under the pseudonyms Rakesh and Pooja, allegedly targeted young women from economically weaker backgrounds in North Karnataka. Promising them employment in Bengaluru, they later lured the victims with money and forced them into prostitution, the report adds.

According to the police, the couple took the women to parties at resorts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on the pretext of providing party services. These weekly receptions were attended by wealthy people and businessmen from various states. The accused accused, among others, 25,000 and 50,000 from customers and also supplied alcohol for these events.

The arrests occurred while the couple was transporting young women for prostitution. The police have launched an investigation and efforts are underway to help the rescued women.

CCB rescues seven more women

In a separate operation, a team of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) rescued seven women from a homestay in Whitefield, Bengaluru. According to Deccan Herald, in this case the prostitution racket was run by pimps operating in multiple states.

According to the report, a manhunt was launched to arrest five key persons behind the operation, all of whom were reportedly in Delhi. The suspects are accused of using social media platforms to attract customers.

Police officials confirmed that in both the cases, an FIR was registered under the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
