Target sells “super comfy” cargo pants for $28, similar to athletic pants, almost 5 times the price

Cargo pants are so popular these days and come in so many different forms that it’s hard to keep up. The added large pockets are definitely a plus for those of us with clothes that don’t usually have a lot of pocket space (AKA women’s clothing in general). Depending on the style, cargo pants are usually quite comfortable. One of Target’s newest cargo pants is already a hit with shoppers for its comfort and more. Other than that, they are so similar to the Athleta style that they are almost 5 times more expensive.

The Women’s High-Waist Cargo Pants from Target’s own A New Day brand are currently $28 and available in six different colors: black, cream, dark green, green, lavender and brown. These are cargo pants with a slim fit, tapered leg and full elastic waistband. They have the typical slash pockets, but of course they also have two cargo pockets on the outside of each leg. They also stop at the ankles – hence the name.

Women’s High Waist Ankle Length Cargo Pants – New Day, $28 at Target

According to the website, they have no stretch and are a “lightweight twill fabric” made of 92% rayon and 8% recycled polyester. Even though they are new, they already have 285 reviews and ratings and over 4 stars. One of the first reviews we’ve seen says the pants are “super comfortable” and shoppers love “wearing them to work.”

“100% quality material and workmanship,” another person wrote. They then said they didn’t like the style right away because of the elastic waistband, but eventually they tried it on and liked the cargo pockets. “I was amazed at how pretty they were and how well they fit. I couldn’t believe it.”

One other shopper wrote that they are “much better in person” if you are also skeptical.

“The green color is darker than in the photo and looks more like turquoise,” they wrote. “I would never choose them from a photo on the Internet. The length is great… The side pockets are not too big.

Endless High Waist Cargo Pants, $129 at Athleta

These Target ankle-length cargo pants are similar to Athleta’s Endless High Rise Cargo Pants, which currently retail for $129 and are pull-on, although their elastic waistband isn’t as dramatic. But it has a similar cut: “semi-fitted” while looser in the thighs and tapered towards the ankle. It has diagonal pockets with zippers and the same cargo pockets. The biggest difference is the material it is made of; These cargo pants are made from 86% recycled polyester and 14% spandex, which means they have a bit of stretch, unlike Target’s pants. These Athleta pants also have more style with details on the cargo pockets, soft pleats and back pockets.

While Target pants may not be the same quality as Athleta pants, their women’s high-waisted cargo pants are worth checking out if you like a good cargo pant that is comfortable and can be worn to work.
