9 exclusive camera features you can only get on iPhone 16

iPhone 16 has been available for almost a month now. Whether you already have a new device or are planning to upgrade, these nine exclusive camera features will help you get the most out of Apple’s latest flagship camera.

48MP ultra-wide-angle camera: The iPhone 16 Pro line has a new 48MP ultra-wide camera. This improved resolution opens up new possibilities for iPhone users, including better low-light photos and less distortion when using the 0.5x camera.

48MP Macro: This new ultra-wide-angle lens also allows you to take macro photos at 48 MP resolution. The ability to take macro photos (12 MP), available exclusively on the iPhone 16 Pro, is also available on the regular iPhone 16 for the first time.

4K120 fps: iPhone 16 Pro also has a new, exclusive camera feature, which is the ability to record slow-motion videos in 4K resolution and 120 fps. Apple has teased this feature as one of the key changes in the new iPhones.

Next generation photo styles: Apple has revamped the Photo Styles feature introduced in iPhone 13. You can now preview it before taking a photo. You can also edit the photo and add different photo styles or even remove it completely.

Camera Control Features: Of course, the main exclusive camera feature on the iPhone 16 is the new camera controls. Apple says this is the result of “thoughtful integration of hardware and software.” It includes a touch switch that controls click, a precision force sensor that enables a light press gesture, and a capacitive sensor that enables touch interaction. Camera Control can quickly launch the camera, take a photo and start recording video, so users don’t miss a moment. The new camera preview helps users frame their shot and adjust other controls – such as zoom, exposure or depth of field – to compose a great photo or video by simply swiping their finger on the camera control.

Quick access to the Camera app: By pressing Camera Controls, you can quickly access the Camera app, allowing you to switch the Camera switch on the lock screen to a different widget. In the Settings app, you can set Camera Control to open other camera apps like Snapchat, Instagram, or Halide.

Sound mix: After recording a video with iPhone 16, you can now edit the audio using the new Audio Mix feature. Four different audio tools improve the sound recorded on your camera. On iPhone 16 Pro, the sound is even better thanks to studio microphones.

fps variables: After recording your video, you can edit the playback speed. The switch in the upper right corner allows you to change the frame rate of the video you just recorded, switching from 60 frames per second to 30 frames per second, and so on.

5x optical zoom: Finally, iPhone 16 Pro adds a feature only available on iPhone 15 Pro Max: 5x optical zoom. This allows iPhone users to slightly enlarge the image without losing quality. The smaller model also has a 25x digital zoom.
