Why Kamala Harris won’t appear on Fox News

Donald Trump called on CBS to lose its license over its decision not to re-broadcast a vague response about US influence over Benjamin Netanyahu.

Ms. Harris’s approach to the media – seemingly aimed at avoiding almost all potentially damaging interviews and instead hugging friends and allies – reveals an interesting aspect of her campaign strategy.

The campaign focused on winning votes among groups it believed it had already won, such as Latinas and young women, rather than proselytizing Republicans.

That approach has raised some concerns among Democratic strategists who believe Ms. Harris doesn’t have enough of a lead in the polls to take such a cautious approach to the media.

Based on current data, almost all pollsters estimate the overall election result to be within error, and several sophisticated election models predict a Trump victory.

The question in some party circles is whether Ms. Harris will agree to an interview with the most hostile mainstream broadcaster: Fox News.
