Tragedy during Durga Idol immersion

The tragic incident took place during the immersion ceremony of the idol in the Manwar River, during which two youths are feared to have drowned while another was rescued. According to local police officials, the incident took place at Piprahi Ghat on Saturday evening.

The search for the missing persons is currently underway, as confirmed by Krishna Gopal Rai, commander of the Chapiya police station. Details revealed by Mankapur district magistrate Yashwant Rao indicate that three youths were carrying Durga idols when they were swept away into the deep end.

Onlookers managed to rescue one of the youths, but Satyam Vishwakarma (22) and Manjeet Gupta (18), both residents of Mahuli Khori, remain unaccounted for and are the subject of an ongoing search operation.
