Woman rescued by KMRT after fall on Carraunthouhill | Radio Kerry

A 54-year-old woman was rescued after a crash on Carraunthouhill.

The Kerry Mountain Rescue Team notified the Valencia Coast Guard at around 4pm last night.

Rescue helicopter 115 was sent to help a woman who suffered an ankle injury.

The helicopter was unable to carry out the rescue due to high winds and was moved back to Tralee.

An hour later, a second rescue attempt was made but was met with poor weather conditions.

At around 7pm, Kerry Mountain Rescue performed a difficult extraction, bringing the woman safely off the mountain.

She was then taken by ambulance to assess her injuries, which were initially reported to be minor.
