Football fan sentenced to three-year ban

Southwell is said to have posted a comment on Facebook under a newspaper article about the Senegalese striker. The article was about an incident Jackson had been involved in the day before during Chelsea’s defeat to Everton.

As reported by Sky Sports, the 64-year-old was identified and accused of sending offensive messages via a public communications network.

When appearing at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court, Southwell pleaded guilty to the charges. In addition to his ban, he was fined £385.

Nicolas Jackson’s statistics this season

Jackson started the season under new manager Enzo Maresca. The 23-year-old scored four goals and three assists in the Premier League, helping the Blues climb into the top four after seven games. They face a difficult trip to Anfield next weekend when club competitions resume.

He also scored his first international goal, scoring in Senegal’s 4-0 win over Malawi in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
