The upcoming RTS and Command and Conquer rival Battlefall has a new multiplayer demo

As Command and Conquer has been almost completely silent for several years, many others have ascended to the throne. The excellence of C&C’s RTS games is a tough nut to crack, however, as even two decades later, Red Alert and the original remain unmatched. This simple yet effective base-building and combat loop can be found almost everywhere on Steam, but… Battle looks like one of the most promising attempts to restore the full power of RTS. Taking inspiration from C&C, Mad Max and Terminator, you can now try out the all-new Battlefall multiplayer demo and see what it takes.

Society as we knew it may be over, but the war continues. That’s what you can expect from Battlefall: State of Conflikt, the upcoming RTS game currently published by MicroProse, one of the biggest names in strategy and simulation. With retro visuals, multiple factions to choose from, and no population restrictions, Battlefall certainly looks like a rebirth of Command and Conquer.

In Battlefall, you’ll have three faction campaigns to push through: EFNET, Scrappers, and SEL. EFNET consists of the last hope for humanity, with weapons modified after the apocalyptic end of civilization. The scrappers are fueled by radiation, hunger and a good dose of madness. This faction reuses all the scrap found around the world in an attempt to survive. There’s also SEL, the classic story of robots becoming too smart for their own good. With “mind-blowing technology” and great computer intelligence, these are the perfect opportunities to play Skynet if that’s what you’ve always wanted to do.

However, faction campaigns are not all that will be available at launch. There will also be co-op modes, PvP skirmishes, and a built-in level and rules editor, so you can take Battlefall as far as it can go. However, if that’s not you, Steam Workshop integration makes it incredibly easy to play with others’ creations.

The Battlefall: State of Confused multiplayer demo is available now and will be available until the end of Steam Next Fest on Monday, October 21. The full game is still scheduled to release on Steam Early Access this year. You can get involved here.
