Two lost hikers were rescued from Bear Head State Park

St. County Sheriff’s Office Louis said two hikers who went missing in Bear Head State Park have been rescued.

On Saturday, around 6:11 p.m., the hiker called 911 and asked for help getting out of the forest.

Officers were initially unable to locate the hiker due to poor cell phone connection, but the Sheriff’s Office later obtained GPS coordinates for the location of the 911 call.

The hiker called 911 again and explained that there were in fact two hikers missing and was told to stay put.

Authorities used a drone to find the hikers and deputies escorted them out of the woods. Neither of them needed medical attention, but they were not prepared to spend the night in the forest.

Authorities said the tourists were not from the area and did not know the park area.
