“We’re lost and we just want to go home!” Disney has revealed the official trailer for the adorable animated film titled Almost a Christmas storyproduced by a master filmmaker Alfonso Cuaronand directed by a renowned director David Lowery for Disney+. The 21-minute film has screened at film festivals this year and will stream on Disney+ this fall. Just in time to get an Oscar nomination next year. Almost a Christmas story is inspired by the true events of a little owl rescued from the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York in 2020. It tells the story of Moon, a curious young owl who unexpectedly gets stuck in a tree intended for Rockefeller Plaza. Trying to escape the bustling city, Moon befriends a lost little girl named Luna. Together they embark on an uplifting adventure discovering the magic of the holidays. Voices include Kary Christopher as Moon, a newcomer Estella Madrigal as Luna, Jim Gaffigan as Papa Sowa, Mamoudou Athie as Pelly Alex Ross Perry as Dave Pies, Gianna Joseph as Peaky, Phil Rosenthal as Punt, z Natasha Lyonne as Pat i John C. Reilly as The Folk Singer, who performs four songs in the short film, two of which are original songs. It looks like stop-motion animation, but they don’t call it that, so it’s just style – made of cardboard and wood. What a sweet little owl.
