iOS 18.1 beta 7 is now available for iPhone users with these features

Apple has just released iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 7 to developers. With this update, Cupertino is getting closer to the official launch of the software, which is expected to bring Apple Intelligence to iPhone, iPad and Mac users.

In addition to Apple Intelligence, iOS 18.1 also introduces other important updates. In the previous beta version, Apple added the following features:

  • Control Center Improvements: Apple now offers all connectivity switches as standalone options, which means users can ditch the built-in solution in favor of specific buttons;
  • Drag and Drop with iPhone Mirroring: The latest iOS 18.1 beta offers a drag-and-drop feature for iPhone Mirroring that was missing in the original versions of iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia;
  • Camera Control: There is a new Camera Control option that allows you to switch to the front-facing camera

In iOS 18.1 Beta 7, Apple continues to enhance Apple Intelligence features, including:

  • Writing tools: Users can rewrite, revise and summarize text almost anywhere they write, including Mail, Notes, Pages and third-party apps
  • Improved Siri: Thanks to the new design, Siri can maintain context between requests. Even if you stumble over your words or change your mind mid-sentence, Siri will understand what you really want.
  • Priority notifications: They appear at the top of the stack so you know immediately what to look out for. Notifications are summarized so you can view them faster.
  • Priority mail in Mail: Put time-sensitive messages at the top of your inbox, like an invitation with a deadline for today or a reminder to check in for a flight this afternoon.
  • Limit breaks: In iOS 18.1 beta 1, the all-new Focus Mode recognizes the content of your notifications and shows those that may require your immediate attention, such as a message about picking up your child from kindergarten later.
  • Email summary: Tap to view the summary of a long email in the Mail app and get to the point.
  • Record and transcribe conversations in the Notes app: Simply press the record button in the Notes or Phone app to capture audio recordings and transcripts. Apple Intelligence generates transcript summaries so you can quickly access the most important information.
  • Smart reply in mail: Quickly prepare an email response with all the necessary details. Apple Intelligence can identify the question asked in the email and suggest appropriate options to include in the response.
  • Clean up: This Photos app feature can identify and remove distracting objects in the background of your photo without accidentally changing the subject.
  • Summary: Apple Intelligence can now summarize more than just Messages and Mail notifications.
