A man accused of trying to kill his father has been told he may not be able to fully avail himself of any insanity defense.

This was because he refused to cooperate with psychological tests ordered by the court.

Dominique Edwards is accused of shooting and wounding his father, Anthony Shaw, while at his Elkhart home in November 2020.

According to The Goshen News, witnesses say Edwards grabbed a pillow, went into Shaw’s bedroom and fired a gun at him.

Witnesses described Edwards as acting strangely and possibly under the influence of drugs. He was arrested in December 2020 and has a jury trial set for November 4.
