Marshall woman pleads for 9 years in prison in fatal Longview shooting

LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) – A Marshall woman will go to prison after pleading guilty to shooting a man in 2021.

Tolla McNeely, 43, was arrested on February 12, 2021 and charged with murder in the shooting death of Jose Manuel DeLaRosa of Henderson. McNeely’s charge was later changed to manslaughter, to which she pleaded guilty Monday in Judge J. Scott Novy’s court. For this crime she was sentenced to nine years in prison.

In September, McNeely was sentenced to 10 days in jail and had her bond condition changed after violating previous conditions.

According to original police reports, DeLaRosa was found in a vehicle at 100 Triple Creek with gunshot wounds. He later died of his injuries at a nearby hospital.

By pleading guilty, McNeely waives his right to appeal the verdict.
