BIBB COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A pregnant goat is resting peacefully after a strange situation on Monday.

Brierfield Fire and Rescue responded to a call for help Monday afternoon after a pregnant goat, Kiko Nannie, found herself at the bottom of a 20-foot-deep dry well.

According to a Facebook post from Brierfield Fire and Rescue, volunteer crews worked frantically to save the goat. BFD secured the area and then lowered a crew member into the well to retrieve it.

Fire Chief Spruce McRee says the crew did a great job responding quickly and effectively.

“I simply cannot express how proud I am of the guys and girls who are so dedicated to serving our community,” said Chief McRee.
