Pee Dee man found guilty in 2020 fatal shooting

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Hartsville man is going to prison after a jury found him responsible for a fatal 2020 shooting.

A jury found Terrele Bailey guilty Thursday of murdering Lamonte McAllister, 27, of Florence, public records show.

A judge sentenced Bailey to 50 years in prison on one count of murder.

On December 18, 2020, the Florence Police Department responded to a shooting at 800 West Dixie Street. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle on the side of the road with McAllister already dead inside.

Hours after the shooting, police arrested Bailey in Hartsville.

Bailey got into a fight with McAllister and fled the area after the shooting, the Florence Police Department previously told WMBF News.

Police also originally charged another man with McAllister’s murder. However, public records show that the state declined to bring charges against Chicago Dixon on murder charges.
